For Immediate Release November 18, 1999 Representative Kip Holden Rallies Citizens to Oppose Sewage Dumping in North Baton Rouge Community State Rep. Kip Holden has scheduled a press conference and rally to be held Saturday, November 20, at 12:30 p.m. at the New Light Baptist Church, 650 Blount Road, Baton Rouge. Rep. Holden said, "I urge the citizens of North Baton Rouge to attend this important prayer meeting. East Baton Rouge Parish plans to dispose large quantities of raw sewage in our community," Holden said. "This is not acceptable. We've worked too hard for our homes, churches, schools and businesses to allow the City-Parish to dump waste in our community," Holden said. A coalition of churches, community leaders and residents has formed to oppose the dumping activity by the City-Parish. "We are committed to stand together until we are victorious," Holden said.
